Biolab is a privately owned biotech company based in Utah committed to the development of natural substances used for the treatment of major chronic diseases. Through this commitment, the Company has discovered, developed and manufactures several innate mammalian molecules.
Our research proves that these peptides stimulate the body's natural process of; 1) the breakdown and resorption of fibrin deposits, 2) the stimulation of the ability of the immune system to recognize and destroy any cell manifesting abnormalities on the membrane surface proteins, and 3) a strong localized anti-inflammatory activity at the site of injury.
Given these mechanisms, and the expected benefit in these diseases, we are moving forward with research focused on several specific disease processes, including research into the use of these molecules for the treatment of:
- Auto-immune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Scleroderma, and Ankylosing Spondylitis
- Chronic wounds which result from diabetes and vascular disease including the elimination of existing; Diabetic Ulcers, Venous Stasis Ulcers, Diabetic Foot Ulcers
- Cancer, especially those known to be more responsive to the immune system namely; breast, prostate, and bone cancers
- Disorders involving chronic pain such as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Diabetic Neuropathy, and Fibromyalgia
- Amelioration of the symptoms of Neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's Disease; AND
- Chronic Infectious diseases such as hepatitis B and C and HIV
While this list may appear to be vast, these (and others) diseases occur due to the failure of the body to recognize the chronic disease process. These molecules restore the recognition of pathologic processes stimulating a more normal response to chronic diseases. Hence, these molecules are expected to work in a more expansive list of diseases based on the conceptual foundation that most acquired diseases (rather than genetically intrinsic diseases) are a result of the body's failure to naturally and appropriately respond and eradicate such diseases.
We anticipate entering the FDA process for the first drug candidate utilizing this technology in a synthetic form of one of these molecules by the end of 2011.
